Research is still imperfect

Two more factors are added to the above, which increase the margin of error. To do this, the subjects need to be given the maximum load for only 30 seconds before the start of the step test, after which they need 10 minutes of rest. "Only then will there be enough lactate in the blood to measure the real rate of decomposition (the metabolic ability of the body)," explains Manunzio the principle of his "two-phase linear study."
